Recently, advancement in digital technologies has had a huge impact on the hospitality industry, especially hotel management, providing numerous solutions to achieve the user requirements in a cost effective and efficient manner. Almost 50,000 homes will experience the solar-powered energy management system due to its advantages as a renewable energy, free, and inexhaustible resource. India and China are in a race to construct the largest solar firm. Furthermore, it seems like the requirement of green energy is drastically increasing with more progress towards the next generation of technologies.

With advancement and requirement of green energy, the hotel management systems are moving towards energy-saving techniques to provide better services to customers. Moreover, advanced energy saving process also benefits investors in saving cost, time, and requirement of man force.

Smart climate control technology is found to be a key aspect in recent days. The frequent environmental changes have led to the dramatic variation in critical factors such as temperature, humidity, and quality of air. Luxury seems to be another vital necessity to attract the customers in the hotel management industry. The variations in atmospheric changes can be monitored and controlled through AC systems. But traditional AC systems seem to be more costly with high energy consumption. Deployment of smart thermostats, smart sensors, and efficient coolant systems helps in monitoring the temperature fluctuations in real-time occupancy, and save a huge amount of cost, electrical energy.  Furthermore, AI-based systems help in determining the peak load demand for the day, which helps to optimize power in a real-time scenario.

Implementing solar-based technology to power-up the entire hotel helps in minimizing the overall energy and cost of the electrical system. Moreover, solar power also provides business opportunities by selling the excess amount of electrical energy generated in the grid system.

Smart lighting technology and automated shutdown sockets help cut down the overall energy cost by 75 percent with increased efficiency of around 20 percent. At certain times, the electrical equipment will be turned on and forgotten to be turned off due to human errors. These issues can be resolved through automated sockets.  Furthermore, smart water management systems help in ensuring the least consumption of water by deploying monitoring waterlines with smart, low-cost water meters.

The integration of energy saving technologies in the hotel industry is dependent on the location and the requirement of customers. The main advantage of deploying smart technologies is that it reduces the overall energy cost of the system. The bottom line observed during the process involves improper operation and maintenance cost, which is the key topic for future research.
