Energy CIO Insights | Monday, January 07, 2019

Clean and reusable energy sources are required for a sustainable environment. Many organizations across the globe are investing in solar energy projects for efficient and clean energy. ET energy, an Alberta based company, which is a global leader in clean energy development and operations, has launched its first commercial solar project in the Philippines. The solar power plant is developed in Cebu City, Philippines and is connected into the grid on the rooftop of a Ford Motor company dealership, Fairlane Automotive Ventures Inc.

ET Energy has been continuously contributing in clean energy production, technological development of production tools, and quality control. The company provides a one-stop solution for the entire solar power plant lifecycle from development, to financing, to operations and maintenance. ET Energy provided a complete solution for engineering, procurement, and construction services to Fairlane for installing 273 high-quality solar modules. All the local compliances and regulations were followed to construct the solar power plant. The project which has a life cycle of 25 years will help to reduce the carbon emission and utility costs.

The Fairlane project is just a beginning as the capacity of installed solar plants is expected to reach 1.6 GW by 2020 in the Philippines. Many local industrial and commercial owners have started building a rooftop PV power as it gives them more efficient energy at a lower cost.

Dennis She, CEO of ET Energy said, "ET Energy has always been committed to entering the Philippine solar market. In addition to this project, a 1.4 MW PV project in cooperation with local well-known power giant has been connected to the grid.” Dennis further added that the company is also constructing commercial rooftop PV projects for Toyota Motor Corporation. In conclusion she remarks, “These substantial projects show that we can and will fully open the Philippines' industrial and commercial PV market."
