Landis+Gyr was awarded the new contract of managed services by Colorado Springs Utilities.

FREMONT, CA: Landis+Gyr and Colorado Springs Utilities announced the grant of the contract to replace the utility’s end-of-life metering system with an advanced IoT network technology competent of supporting the next generation of energy management applications. The deal also includes a long-term managed services agreement.

Springs Utilities will install the Gridstream Connect platform that connects 590,000 natural gas, electric and water meters to an integrated acquisition system and network management. The communication network and metering endpoints will use Mesh IP technology to maintain accurate and well-timed two-way meter communication. The deployment of technology is meant for data collection to establish a platform that supports advanced technologies. Additionally, the new contract supplies the managed services of Landis+Gyr for a total period of 20-year, including deployment and post-deployment services.

Springs Utilities recently adopted a new energy vision that includes environmental, economic, and innovation strategies for addressing clean energy goals that support affordable energy delivery.

Landis+Gyr, a global head in intelligent grid infrastructure, recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its managed AMI services business. The services include data monitoring, hardware and maintenance. The company’s Gridstream Connect solution is at the forefront of providing next-generation technology for smart city and utility applications.
