Smart technology enables companies and households to use energy more efficiently. The smart energy technology will be useful in reducing the need to build more power plants, some of which burn polluting fossil fuels such as coal or gas. In recent years, plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) have received considerable attention because of the growing concerns about global warming and the depletion of petroleum resources. The primary goal of smart energy technology is to reduce energy costs and environmental impacts in the life cycle.

SolarEdge is a global smart energy technology leader. By leveraging world-class engineering capabilities and constantly focusing on innovation, SolarEdge creates smart energy solutions that drive the users’ lives and move forward in the future.

Founded in 2006, SolarEdge developed a DC-optimized inverter solution that changed the way photovoltaic (PV) systems harvest and manages power. The intelligent SolarEdge inverter solution maximizes power generation while reducing the energy costs of the PV system to improve ROI.

SolarEdge Technologies announced that electric vehicle (EV) consumers can now use the Google Assistant to control SolarEdge’s EV charging solar inverter. It is the first company to integrate Google Assistant EV charging.

Lior Handelsman, SolarEdge’s Founder and VP of Marketing and Product Strategy states, “By merging the simplicity of smart homes with the value of smart energy through this collaboration with Google, SolarEdge is leading the way in making the power of smart solar energy more accessible to more people.”

The company owns the world’s first EV charging solar inverter. This single-phase charging inverter provides homeowners with the ability to charge electric vehicles up to six times faster than the standard Level 1 charger. The inverter uses an innovative solar boost mode in charging vehicles that simultaneously uses grid and PV charging. The integration of smart speakers with Google Assistant makes EV charging easier for consumers and meets the demand for intelligent energy solutions.

Consumers can now ask the Google Assistant EV charging to start and stop. SolarEdge intends to add functionality to Google Assistant commands, including charging status, checking average charged kilometers during the charging session and pre-scheduling. The continuous improvement in the way SolarEdge produces and consumes energy will give all its users improved efficiency.
