FREMONT, CA: Amazon Web Services (AWS), a Amazon.com company, announces its collaboration with Community Energy Inc., a pioneer in developing renewable energy to support the construction and operation of an 80MW solar farm in Accomack County, Virginia. This project named Amazon Solar Farm US East will help to prevent the environmental impact of Amazon's Virginia data centers through use of renewable energy.

The solar farm is expected to generate 170,000 MW solar power annually as early as October 2016 as reported by Barbara Vergetis Lundin for Fierce Energy. All energy generated will be delivered into the electrical grids that supply both current and future AWS Cloud data centers.
